The Bernardin Center is where the ideas and spirituality of Cardinal Joseph Bernardin flourish through scholarships, seminars, lectures, and a full array of programs which focus on Cardinal Bernardin’s signature issues, including reconciliation and peacemaking, the consistent ethic of life, youth and young adults, and interreligious dialogue.
This blog hopes to create a conversation on the role of Jesus in the New Cosmology as part of a research project directed by Sr. Laurie Brink, O.P. and assisted by Sr. Rhonda Miska, O.P. Guided by a commitment to collaboration and transparency, we are sharing our reflections throughout the process of research. Though mainly focused on Women Religious, all are invited to join our “crowd-sourcing” efforts. We only ask that you offer thoughtful and constructive comments. Many people look to their religious leaders for guidance on issues relating to science and technology, even though clergy and lay members may have had little exposure to science in their educational experience. This innovative program will integrate science into the core curriculum of CTU. Dawn Nothwehr, OSF and Anne McGowan are leading efforts on campus which have resulted in a grant funded by the John Templeton Foundation. The grant funds the participation of seminaries and schools of theology in the Dialogue on Science, Ethics, and Religion (DoSER), a program of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), in consultation with the Association of Theological Schools (ATS).
