Religious Life and the Entire Church Engaging Synodality
31 Mar 2022

The Center for the Study of Consecrated Life (CSCL) and Catholic Theological Union (CTU) hosted this engaging conversation between Sr. Maria Cimperman and Sr. Nathalie Becquart.

Sr. Nathalie is an Under-Secretary for the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops. She works directly with the Synodal process. You can read more about her important work in this article from the New York Times.

Sr. Maria was named by the UISG International Union of Superiors General to a four-person commission for UISG-USG which created a process for religious congregations and which will encounter the responses and offer a synthesis for the Synod on Synodality.

Topics of conversation included:

  • What shape is the synodal process taking? How are religious, laity and the clergy responding?
  • What is the call of religious life in this time within the larger church?
  • Among the wider people of God and creation? What difference will this make? And more.
