Human Fraternity: Implications of a Ground-Breaking Document for Christian-Muslim Relations

On February 4, 2019 / 29 Jumada 1 1440, Pope Francis and Shaykh al-Azhar Ahmed el-Tayeb made history in Abu Dhabi. They signed the first recorded joint statement between a Roman Pontiff and the Shaykh al-Azhar, one of the oldest and most revered institutions of Muslim religious learning. Leaders of the National Catholic-Muslim Dialogue heed the call of the document and engage in reflection on its challenging content.

The National Catholic-Muslim Plenary Conference, “Living Our Faith Together” was sponsored by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, the Islamic Society of North America, and the Islamic Circle of North America. This presentation is a live performance by Sounds of Faith, a media and educational outreach project, provided by Harran Productions Foundation.
