Dr. Peter Ochs is the Edgar M. Bronfman Professor of Modern Judaic Studies at the University of Virginia and a leading interpreter of Jewish thought, especially its relations with other religious traditions. Prof. Ochs is a co-founder of “Scriptural Reasoning,” a process in which scholars from various faith traditions participate in the communal practice of reading sacred scriptures, in small groups, together, in order to create new conversations and relationships.

In partnership with the First Analysis Institute of Integrative Studies, CTU and the Bernardin Center have been engaged in furthering our efforts in trilateral interreligious dialogue through a program entitled, “IN GOOD FAITH: Jews, Christians, and Muslims Sharing Perspectives on Issues that Matter to Our Faith Communities and to Our World.”
The “IN GOOD FAITH” programs for 2011-2012 consist of two events under the broad theme of “Approaching Difficult Ethical and Moral Questions and Issues from a Faith Perspective.”
“IN GOOD FAITH: Jews, Christians, and Muslims Sharing Perspectives on Issues that Matter to Our Faith Communities and to Our World” is an initiative of the Bernardin Center at Catholic Theological Union in partnership with First Analysis Institute of Integrative Studies.

Professor Cherif Bassiouni, one of the country's foremost experts on the political and social context of the Middle East, will provide a briefing on the context and significance of the dramatic and unprecedented events that have been taking place the past few months in this key region of the world. Professor Bassiouni is a distinguished Professor Emeritus of Law at DePaul University and has been enlisted by our government and the United Nations to take on a number of sensitive and important missions in that part of the world.
