In the United States, high technology rescue medicine has often been used to extend the lives of those who are dying. Some medical ethicists suggest that such dependence on technology has indeed saved lives but has also "disfigured dying." In this Sundays At CTU lecture, Rev. Thomas Nairn, O.F.M., Ph.D. looks at the phenomenon of dying in the United States today and asks if the Catholic moral tradition has anything to say regarding care for those at the end of life in our highly technologized society.
