Bob Bossie
The Ministry of Social
Justice
This will be an interactive workshop in which Fr. Bossie
engages participants in reflection about the ministry of social justice and the
work of the 8th Day Center, a Roman Catholic center involved in the issues such
as fair wages, homelessness, the anti-war movement and the School of the
Americas Watch.

Presenter: Bob (Robert) Bossie, SCJ, has been a staff person
at the 8th Day Center for Justice in Chicago since 1980. He works on issues of
peace, human rights, economics and non-violence.
Bob is part of a small faith
community in Uptown committed to justice, peace and nonviolence. He has spoken
widely and led retreats and days of reflection for various groups. He has been
arrested numerous times and spent some time in jail. Most recently, as part of
the Circle of Life Affinity Group, he helped block the entrance to Chicago's
federal building in opposition the start of the Iraq war.
Bob is a member of the Priests of the Sacred Heart, an international congregation. He travels frequently to Latin America, the Middle East, Europe and Canada. Before joining his religious congregation, Bob was a member of the US Air Force and the military industry where he worked on nuclear weapons and other weapons systems.
