These series of all-day workshops are offered at Catholic Theological Union to help ministers build their skills as leaders. They may be taken individually for continuing education or completed in their entirety as a credit course.        Explore what it means to be a leader. What are the various leadership styles and how might
       they work or not in a ministry setting. How do you build and work as a team? How do you

       How do you work with different personality types and leadership styles? Learn how to
       work with volunteers.

 

Personnel Issues
       Legal issues related to the work place. Hiring, disciplining, firing, and employment law.
       How does the Church’s social justice teaching fit in the workplace? Best practices in
       compensation and benefits.

 

Financial and Facilities Management
       Developing a strategic plan, implementing a budget, understanding financial statements,
       Review forms used by the Archdiocese of Chicago; What does Canon Law say about
       facilities management.

 

Public Relations and Marketing
       Why are these important for ministry? How do you define your public? How do you
       develop a crisis plan? How do you deal with the media?

 

Stewardship and Fundraising
       What are they and what place do they have in ministry? Looking at money, asking,
       and giving through a biblical lens. Fundraising from parish to diocesan perspectives.
